Distressed denim is certainly all the rage at the moment.
I am expanding “distressed” trend to include houseplants, specifically my prized fiddle-leaf fig tree.

I recently refreshed the soil in its pot, and while I was at it I cut back the roots quite a bit.
Google tells me my plant is probably suffering from transplant shock. The only course of action is to water and fertilize like normal and be patient. Also, those yellow leaves are goners.
You might say it’s time for me to turn in my green thumb, I did the same repotting method a few years ago, with no ill effects, so I thought it would be fine.
Last time, however, I pruned back the plant itself first, so maybe that helped. We’ll see what my fiddle-leaf fig looks like once it finally gets happy in its new home.
That is a nice plant, I hope it pulls through!
